Material Transformations, A Fiber Arts Workshop

with Yoshiko Iwamoto Wada


When:  March 28, 29, & 30, 2008
Where: Art Center at Linekona

The Workshop explored material transformations with world-renowned fiber artist and scholar Yoshiko I. Wada. We learned how to mix techniques – from basic handwork to more technologically advanced methods – to boil and burn and chemically shrink fabric into 3-dimensional soft sculptures with volume and body. Students also enjoyed the opportunity to use new textile materials.
