Hawaii Handweavers’ HuiPresentedMaterial Transformations, A Fiber Arts Workshopwith Yoshiko Iwamoto Wada
The Workshop explored material transformations with world-renowned fiber artist and scholar Yoshiko I. Wada. We learned how to mix techniques – from basic handwork to more technologically advanced methods – to boil and burn and chemically shrink fabric into 3-dimensional soft sculptures with volume and body. Students also enjoyed the opportunity to use new textile materials. You can view 4 photo albums of photos taken at the workshop:
